“Di Yi”(翟衣)，the Empress of Han Fu

      Traditional Chinese music "Ya Yue"（雅樂） and traditional dance  is Han Fu's best partners. The following video is about Chinese traditional music concert in Biyong Hall, Beijing.

    You could see dancers wear Han Fu which are belong Han dynasty. We call this dance is "Pan Gu Wu". It means dancer should dance on the drum.

     The singer wears a Han Fu which is Empress' gown (but it isn't  regular) in Song and Ming dynasty. We call it "Di Yi" (翟衣, the formal wear of her imperial highness Empresses and Princesses)

The right painting is Song Dynasty Cao Empress (慈聖光獻皇后曹氏）and her maids. Shi was Empreror Renzong(宋仁宗)'s wife. She was wearing a Di Yi. Di (翟) means a kind of pheasant with long tail feathers. It always decorates for Empress or Princess. Empress' Di Yi has 12 line of pheasants, but princess' Di yi only has 9 line of pheasants.

 The right paiting is Song Dynasty ZhengEmpress (顯肅皇后郑氏）. Her husband was Empreror Huizong(宋徽宗). In this paiting, we could see four long tail feathers pheasants very clearly.

Here are some images about Di (翟)，the pheasant with long tail feathers.  In my opinion, Di is gloden pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus) which is only living in China. However, there are some people don't agree that Di is gloden pheasant.

  
后妃之服。一曰祎衣，二曰朱衣，三曰礼衣，四曰鞠衣。皇后首饰花一十二株，小花如大花之数，并两博鬓。冠飾以九龙四凤。祎之衣，深青织成，翟文赤质，五色十二等。青纱中单，黼领，罗縠褾襈，蔽膝随裳色，以緅为领缘，用翟为章，三等。大带随衣色，朱里，纰其外，上以朱锦，下以绿锦，纽约用青组，革带以青衣之，白玉双佩，黑组，双大绶，小绶三，间施玉环三，青袜、舄，舄加金饰。受册、朝谒景灵宫服之。鞠衣，黄罗为之，蔽膝、大带、革舄随衣色，余同祎衣，唯无翟文，亲蚕服之。妃首饰花九株，小花同，并两博鬓，冠饰以九翚、四凤。褕翟，青罗绣为摇翟之形，编次于衣，青质，五色九等。素纱中单，黼领，罗縠褾襈，蔽膝随裳色，以緅为领缘，以摇翟为章，二等。大带随衣色，不朱里，纰其外，余仿皇后冠服之制，受册服之。
